Philip Woods is a business owner and professional performance coach with over 18 years of experience in the health, fitness, and combat sports industry. With academic backgrounds in Sports Science, Coaching, and Psychology, Philip combines evidence-based practice with real-world coaching experience to help individuals at all levels improve performance, health, and confidence.
Philip currently works as a specialist coach in the United States for the biggest sports organisation in the world under a visa for individuals of extraordinary ability, recognising his expertise and professional standing within his field. His coaching experience spans professional athletes, competitive fighters, and complete beginners, and he is known for making high-level coaching accessible and effective for everyday clients.
He is qualified in nutrition, sports massage, injury rehabilitation, and post-natal coaching, and holds instructor certifications in kettlebell training and indoor cycling. In addition, Philip is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo coach and has an extensive personal athletic background competing in MMA, boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo.
Philip’s coaching philosophy focuses on long-term development, injury prevention, and sustainable progress. His approach blends structured programming, movement education, and psychological coaching to help clients not only achieve results, but maintain them.
Alongside coaching, Philip has built and operated multiple businesses including a health and fitness studio and spa, security companies, and property development projects. He is currently expanding into furniture manufacturing and distribution, bringing the same disciplined and performance-driven mindset from sport into business.
In Hawaii, Philip has been recognised as the number one coach in the gym for three consecutive months, holding both training and sales performance records. He works with both individuals and group training environments and is particularly known for creating structured, supportive coaching environments that help people exceed what they believed they were capable of.
