Jess Sweeney
Fitness, Reiki and Sound practitioner
With over 15 years of experience in the fitness and wellness industry, I am passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies, improve their wellbeing, and find balance through movement and holistic healing.
My journey began with community fitness, where I have proudly worked as a Zumba community instructor for 15 years, creating fun, inclusive spaces where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy movement and improve their health. Over time, my practice expanded to include more mindful and therapeutic approaches to wellbeing.
I am trained in Pilates (10 years) and Trauma-Informed Yoga (5 years), allowing me to support individuals in a safe, compassionate way that honours both physical and emotional wellbeing. I also teach Senior Chair Yoga, helping older adults stay active, mobile, and connected. I am currently studying as a Somatic Movement practitioner to bring more classes to the community.
Alongside movement practices, I specialise in holistic therapies and energy healing, including Sound Healing, Reiki (Master & Trainer level providing courses for Reiki levels one, two and three), Deep Tissue Massage, and Indian Head Massage. These therapies allow me to offer deeply restorative experiences that support relaxation, healing, and overall balance. I am also facilitate Cacao ceremonies and these are held at the studio and private sessions for life events.
I am a trained Gong Master and regularly incorporate this technique into my classes whenever I can.
Throughout my career I have worked in many fitness centres, corporate environments, charities and community spaces building lasting communities and friendships.
Today I offer group classes, workshops, and 1–1 healing sessions, creating supportive environments where people can move, heal, and nurture their wellbeing. I am an avid supporter of other facilitators also using the space at Soul Fitness Studios expanding and connecting the wellness community in Prestwich and surrounding Greater Manchester areas. I have worked for many years with vulnerable adults and children (and their carers and parents) and one of my main goals for this space is to provide a safe and welcoming space for everybody.
My mission is simple: to help people feel stronger, calmer, and more connected to themselves in a fun and inclusive manner.
